Cassidy Wright scored a season-high 16 points in a 50-58 loss to Texas Tech Red Raiders (4-3) on Wednesday evening in the Lady Lions first bout with a Big 12 team at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock, Texas.
Joining Wright was senior
Christina Lasane who racked up 11 points. Lasane went 5-for-12 from the field, while Wright was 5-for-14 from the field with four rebounds and two steals for the game.

Charisse Carr led the team in rebounds with eight.
Destiny Ham added eight points for the Lady Lions. UAPB held Texas Tech to their lowest point total in a half with 25 points. With a strong defense UAPB forced the Lady Red Raiders to shoot 8-for-31 (25.8%) from the field in the first half.
The Lady Raiders was led by Amber Battles with a double-double, finishing the game with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Diamond Lockhart added nine points, Minta Spears and Shauntal Nobles both finished with six points.
Battle lifted the home team to a 1-0 lead early hitting one out of two free-throws with a quick foul from
Marion Thompson. After a layup from Diamond Lockhart, UAPB responded with a jumper from
Mollie Campbell to put the Lions on the board.
After a back and forth for the subsequent seven minutes, the Lady Lions jumped out to a 8-7 lead behind a jump shot from
Destiny Ham. Texas Tech freshman Jasmine Caston Charmaine responded with a good jump shot to give the Red Raiders the lead for the night to cut the home team's lead to 9-8.
UAPB played their best defense of the season with the help of
Mollie Campbell who led the team with three blocks. In the first half the Lions gave the Red Raiders a run for their money, with two ties during the first half and going into the locker room down by three 25-22.
Texas Tech shot 8-14 (57.1%) clip from the charity stripe, while UAPB managed 66.7% in the first half going 4-for-6.
Two minutes into the second half, Lockhart sank a jump shot to lift TTU to a 27-22 lead and send TTU on an 8-0 run. The Lady Lions fought back all game after being down as much as 13 (53-40) at 3:40 in the second half.
UAPB responded with a 10-3 run, to cut the lead to 56-50 but, that was not enough to clinch a big victory for the program.
The Lady Lions shot 21-for 60 (35.0) percent overall from the field, while Texas Tech shot 20-59 (33.9%). Texas Tech outrebounded UAPB 46-39 in the contest.
The Lady Lions will break for final exams and return to action at home against Talladega College on December 17 for a nonconference match in the H.O Clemmons Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
