HOUSTON -- The Lady Lions came up empty on Friday night, falling to Texas Southern 25-19, 25-22, 25-22. UAPB fell to 10-21 and 3-4 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, while TSU improved to 12-9 and maintained their grip on first place in the division at 6-1. After a brief at second place, the Lady Lions dipped to fourth in the Western Division following the loss.

Ayanna Parker was the lone Lady Lions player in double figures on offense with 10 kills. Jordan Foyer added 31 assists.

Robyn Shannon and Kali Fluke each finished with 15 kills to lead TSU. Jyra Churchill tallied 32 assists, while Sarah Wooten finished with 10.

The Lady Lions return home on Monday to face Southern in the final SWAC match of the season.
