Box Score Baton Rouge, LA- In basketball action this afternoon, the Lady Lions of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff had their first road contest of the SWAC season as they traveled to Baton Rouge to battle the Lady Jaguars of Southern University.

With every game the Lady Lions are working towards finishing the season strong as well taking a shot at the coveted SWAC championship.

The Lady Lions started a little slow as they were able to go into the first media timeout tied at six, but Southern was able to push the lead to as much as 20-8. The Lady Jags would take a 24-13 lead into the half.

The Lady Jags came out in the second half with the intentions of closing out the Lady Lions and did just that pushing an 11 point half time lead to 25 with 3:08 left on the clock. The Lady Jags would walk away with a 67-44 final.

Lechell Rush, of Southern, led all scorers with 20 points and 17 rebounds on eight-of-thirteen shooting. The Lady Jags out rebounded the Lady Lions 63- 41.

Cassidy Wright was the only double figure scorer for the Lady Lions with 14 points. Lakendra Marsh chipped in eight, but the Lady Jags were just too much for the Lady Lions this afternoon.

 Next up for the Lady Lions is a January 14^th match-up against the Lady Braves of Alcorn State in Lorman, MS. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
