Golden Lions Take Third On 2012 SWAC All-Academic Team

Pine Bluff, AR-Once again, the student-athletes of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff have proven to be some of the best in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, not only on the fields of competition but also the most important element of the college experience, the classroom.
  
A total of 875 student-athletes from around the SWAC earned academic honors by completing a full academic year in residence at the certifying institution and maintaining a 3.0 cumulative GPA or above.
 
Leading the way was Commissioner's Cup winner Prairie View A&M, who had 112 honorees; Grambling State followed with 108; while Arkansas-Pine Bluff had the third highest total with 92.
 
Sporting the highest GPA as a team was the Jackson State Women's Tennis Team with a cumulative average of 3.62; UAPB Women's Tennis Team was close behind with a team GPA of 3.58; while the Alabama A&M Women's Bowling Team came in a close third at 3.54.  
 
The administrators and staff here at UAPB take pride in upholding the mission, operational goals, departmental philosophy and purpose, and standards in relation to the university and athletics. In doing so, this allows the university to produce quality student-athletes as listed below.
