LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- Terrance Walker returned a fumble five yards for a touchdown to lead an opportunistic Langston defense as they defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff 19-12 in Saturday's season opener.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff outgained Langston 313-246 but were denied points on their first four visits inside the 25-yard line, thanks to a fumble, interception and two missed field goals.
Walker's score gave Langston a 16-0 lead 14 seconds into the fourth quarter. UAPB made it 16-12 with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Benjamin Anderson to Mareo Howard and a 1-yard run by
Stephen Jones, but was unable to get any closer from that point.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will host Alcorn State on Saturday, September 10
th at Golden Lions Stadium with kickoff set for 6:00 pm.
