Golden Lions Baseball Releases 2012 Schedule

PINE BLUFF, Ark.- University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Head Baseball Coach Carlos James has released the Golden Lions 2012 schedule.

“Coach MacMillan did exactly what I asked and put together one of the toughest schedule's in the country,” said Coach James. “It also gives UAPB Baseball fans a look at the level I expect our program to compete at year-end-and-year-out.”

The Golden Lions upcoming schedule is highlighted by several tough non-conference match-ups with teams from larger Division I conferences.

“This year's non-conference slate will feature teams from some major conferences such as Oklahoma and Oklahoma State of the Big 12, Oregon State and Oregon of the PAC 12, and Alabama of the SEC,” noted James. “We also have scheduled games against UALR, Arkansas State, and UCA. We will host South Dakota State out of the Missouri Valley Conference on our home field at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.”

This schedule has created quite a buzz and will undoubtedly prepare the Golden Lions for SWAC play and a run at a Regional berth at season's end.

“We are building something special here in Pine Bluff and playing this type of competition will elevate our program to where we can compete and be competitive on the national level,” added James.
