PINE BLUFF, Ark.-The Second Annual Monte Coleman Celebrity Golf Tournament was a success for the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff Athletics Department. The proceeds from the two-day event will be used for equipment upgrades for the UAPB athletic weight room facilities.
Celebrities and golf players from the local community converged on the Pine Bluff Country Club for what was an exciting day of competition for all of those involved in the event. Headlining the list of celebrity personalities was former NBA superstar Dennis Scott, former NFL players Cesar Belsar, Tony Peters, Vernon Dean and Ken Coffee as well as channel 4 sports anchor Matt Mosler.
“The Monte Coleman Celebrity Golf Tournament has continued to get better each and every year we've hosted it,” said UAPB Athletic Director Louis “Skip” Perkins Jr. “This years' tournament saw fierce competition among the participants but it was all in good fun and for a worthy cause. We're extremely grateful for the contributions of this years' tourney sponsors. Without their generous donations none of this would be possible.”

On the men's side the team consisting of James Perkins, Curtis Lawson, Wes McNulty, Dean Chambliss, and Dennis Scott came away with the tournament title in the afternoon flight.
