TORONTO- The Canadian Football Leagues' Toronto Argonauts has announced the signing of former Arkansas-Pine Bluff linebacker John Keith to a free agent contract. Keith will officially report to training camp on June 3rd.
The 6-0, 210 Palmdale, California native was a standout player while a member of the Golden Lions football squad. Last season Keith was the anchor on UAPB defensive unit that ranked fourth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in total defense.
In 2008 Keith amassed a total of 119 stops in the 12 games in which he competed ranking first on the team in tackles and second in the SWAC overall.
Keith was among a total of four players that were signed by the Argonauts as the team also announced the additions of ex-NFL pro bowl wide receiver and kick returner Jerome Mathis, quarterback Stephen Reaves, and cornerback Dovonte Edwards.
