Shon Pilcher currently serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Academics at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He joined the UAPB athletic staff in December 2019 as an Athletic Academic Advisor for Men’s and Women’s Track, Baseball, and Men’s Golf. Throughout his tenure, Pilcher has played a key role in elevating academic performance, contributing to significant improvements in the department’s Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and supporting three sport programs that have maintained a perfect 1000 APR score.
In July 2024, he was promoted to Director of Academics, and in September 2025, he was elevated to his current role as Associate Athletic Director for Academics.
Pilcher has also earned national recognition for his leadership and professional engagement. He was selected by the NCAA to the Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute (2025–2026 Cohort) and accepted into the Effective Facilitation Workshop (EFW). In addition to these honors, he is an active member of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA), the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi, Pilcher earned his bachelor’s degree in general studies from UAPB, where he was a member of the Golden Lions football team. He later completed his Master of Sports Administration at Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi.
