Shon Pilcher became a part of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff athletic staff in December 2019 as an Athletic Academic Advisor for Men's and Women's Track, Baseball, and Men's Golf. He has worked to improve the GSR, while three sports teams maintain a perfect 1000 points in APR. In July 2024, he was promoted to Director of Student-Athlete Academic Services. Prior to joining the athletic staff, Pilcher worked for 12 years in the Little Rock School District.
A native of Greenwood, Mississippi Pilcher graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2004 with a degree in Health and Physical Education. During his time there, he was a member of the Golden Lions football team. He furthered his education and earned a Master of Sports Administration from Belhaven University in Jackson, Mississippi in 2017.
In addition, Pilcher is a member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.
