Johnathan Jones joined the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Athletics Department as the Compliance and Eligibility Specialist in 2026, bringing experience in NCAA compliance, student-athlete eligibility, academic monitoring, and student development.

In his role, Jones assists with the day-to-day administration of the department's compliance operations, including NCAA eligibility certification, transfer portal management, academic monitoring, rules of education, and maintaining compliance records. He works closely with coaches, administrators, and student-athletes to ensure adherence to NCAA, Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), and institutional policies while supporting the academic and athletic success of Golden Lion student-athletes.

Prior to joining UAPB, Jones served as an Athletic Compliance Associate at Little Rock Athletics, where he researched NCAA legislation through LSDBi and the NCAA Eligibility Center, monitored CARA logs, managed transfer portal documentation, maintained compliance records, and assisted with eligibility and academic monitoring. He also provided education on NCAA rules to coaches and student-athletes.

Jones previously worked in Student Development and Athletic Compliance at Mississippi State Athletics, helping coordinate student-athlete development initiatives, supporting academic advising efforts, and assisting with NCAA academic and eligibility compliance. His experience also includes professional operations management in the private sector, where he developed strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jones earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2023 and completed a Master of Science in Workforce Education Leadership at Mississippi State University in 2024.

A standout student-athlete, Jones competed as a member of the NCAA Division I men's track and field program at Little Rock from 2019–2025. During his collegiate career, he earned 2024 SEC All-Academic Team honors, was a 2023 Ohio Valley Conference All-Academic Team selection, received 2023-24 USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition, qualified for the 2021-22 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Preliminary Championships, and earned 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Second Team All-America honors.
