Cory Blunt serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Development at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), where he leads with vision, innovation, and purpose. A seasoned executive in sports administration and event strategy, Blunt brings more than two decades of transformative leadership in fundraising, brand building, youth development, and high-level athletics programming.
At UAPB, Blunt oversees the Golden Lion Athletic Fund, drives donor engagement, manages athletic fundraising campaigns, and implements forward-thinking NIL and sports camp strategies. His efforts directly support the student-athlete experience while elevating the visibility and financial strength of UAPB Athletics across the state and nation.
Before joining UAPB, Blunt served as a project coordinator for the Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau (LRCVB), where he produced landmark civic events that strengthened economic tourism and community engagement. His portfolio includes the 2024 Great American Eclipse Celebration, River Market Live, Jazz in the Park, Hispanic Heritage Weekend, and the Little Rock Holiday Parade. These events attracted tens of thousands and made lasting cultural and financial impact.
A proud native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Blunt made his mark early as a standout defensive back at Pine Bluff High School, leading the Zebras to three straight state championships in 1993, 1994, and 1995. He earned a full scholarship to Missouri State University, where he was a team captain and multiple-time Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week. Blunt later returned to the sidelines as a defensive backs coach at both UAPB and the University of Central Arkansas, mentoring student-athletes on and off the field.
Blunt is also the founder of Blunt Sports Marketing, a premier event and athlete development firm that has hosted NFL talent camps, organized tournaments in multiple states, and coordinated high school sanctioned football and basketball showcases across the country. His platforms have provided athletes with life-changing exposure, scholarship access, and recruiting visibility.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Entertainment Management with a minor in Psychology from Missouri State University and a master's degree in Sports Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He is currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing, with expected completion in Summer 2026. This reflects his lifelong commitment to education, leadership, and innovation in sport.
Blunt is the proud father of three daughters: Jasmine, Jada, and Brooklynn. They inspire his mission to build legacy, lead with integrity, and create access for the next generation. He is also a committed member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated and is widely respected for his work ethic, vision, and impact-driven approach to sports, education, and community empowerment.
