Coach Deeanna Harrington, a Louisville native, is a graduate of Noxapater High School in Noxapater, Mississippi. Her collegiate softball career began at Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where she was a two-sport athlete in both softball and basketball during her two years at the junior college level. She earned First Team All-MACC honors to close out her career at Coahoma.

Harrington later transferred to the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, where she completed her softball career as a first baseman while earning her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Health, and Recreation. She also earned a Master’s degree in Agricultural Regulation with a concentration in Entomology.

Harrington began her coaching career at Coahoma Community College, where she served for one year. She later returned to UAPB and spent four years as a Volunteer Assistant Coach. Her coaching journey continued at Starkville High School in Starkville, Mississippi, where she served as an assistant coach for both the junior varsity and varsity programs. At Starkville High School, her responsibilities included player development, strength and conditioning, and coaching the outfielders.

She now returns to UAPB bringing valuable experience, a strong work ethic, and a deep dedication to student-athlete development. Coach Harrington is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
