Biography
2008-09: Transferred from Adams State in Colorado which is noted for its strong CC programs. Came in 8th (26:21) at the SWAC CC Championships helping the team to a 3rd place finish after being one of three Golden Lions in the top ten, earning Second Team All SWAC. Stephen ran a 4:25 mile leg on the DMR (10:49) which took 4th at the SWAC Indoor Championships. Came in 9th for the 3000m (9:10); 8th in the mile (4:31) and 8th in the 5000m (15:55). At the SWAC Outdoor Championships, Stephen came in 5th in the 5000m (15:59); 10th in the 1500m (4:08). Personal Best: 1500m/ 3:57; 8:31/3000m; 14:39/ 5k and 32:04/10k
Personal: Born April 4, 1985...Son of Moses and Anne Yegon. Has 2 brothers and 2 sisters...Major Nursing.
Outlook: Stephen knows his numbers last year did not match his personal best or even his personal goals when he arrived from Adams State. Knowing that Moses and he are the only two returning from the distance program, he will set an example of leadership to the new recruits. “Stephen’s plate was full last season. Full of distractions which caused some unheralded performances. He understands that he will be the link of communication, talent and performance between himself and his new teammates.
