Cam Robnson

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

A native of Arkansas, Cam Robinson has quickly established himself as one of the nation’s rising coaches in junior college basketball. Known for his energy, player-first leadership, and commitment to academic excellence, Robinson has built a culture of success both on and off the court.

Since taking over the South Arkansas Community College men’s basketball program in 2022, Robinson has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround. In just three seasons, he has led the Stars to 50 total wins and a winning record each year, transforming a team that had never won more than six games into a championship contender.

In his second season, Robinson guided SouthArk to a program-record 22 victories, capturing the first Region and District Championships in school history and earning the program’s first-ever NJCAA National Tournament appearance. His historic run earned him recognition as the 2023 District Coach of the Year.

Under his leadership, the Stars have also excelled academically and athletically. His program has produced two President’s List honorees, seven Dean’s List student-athletes, three All-Region selections, one Conference Player of the Year, two of the conference’s top scorers, and an NJCAA All-American. SouthArk finished among the top three in the region in two of his three seasons.

Before arriving at SouthArk, Robinson served as an assistant coach at multiple programs, gaining valuable experience and building his reputation as a teacher of the game:

  • East Central University (2020–2022): Helped develop three All-Conference players, including two post players and one wing, while serving as Academic Liaison and supporting two Academic All-Conference selections.
  • Alcorn State University (2019–2020): Served as Skill Development and Video Coordinator, mentoring three All-Conference players and helping the Braves qualify for their first SWAC Tournament in three years.
  • Northeastern State University (2018–2019): Helped guide the RiverHawks to their first MIAA Conference Tournament appearance in five seasons.

Robinson’s ability to develop talent, build culture, and emphasize the total student-athlete experience has made him one of the most respected young coaches in the region.
