Ryan joins the UAPB coaching staff after one season at Santa Barbara City College. In an abbreviated season at SBCC, the Vaqueros went on to a 12-8 record. Ryan was responsible for the programming and development of the red shirt pitchers while there and also aided in camps, practices, and games.
Prior to SBCC, Ryan spent five seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates in Player Development - four of which were a coordinator who oversaw the data and video collection of the entire minor league system. Ryan and his team aided in technology usage and data/video collection used for skill development, advanced scouting, and player acquisitions. In his first season with Pittsburgh, Ryan was assigned to assist the Triple-A coaching staff in data collection and advanced scouting in Indianapolis.
Ryan got his start in professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers Player Development department in 2014, where he was assigned to their Triple-A Nashville club to assist the coaching staff.
Before Ryan joined Milwaukee, he was a baseball operations assistant for the University of California in 2013.
Ryan is a graduate of Arizona State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. In his first season as an assistant coach for the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders of the Northwoods League in the midwest. Ryan also has become a Performance Enhancement Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
