The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff head baseball coach, Logan Stout, has announced the hiring of RJ Pearson as an Assistant Coach for the Golden Lions.

Pearson, who enters his first year with the team, will be responsible for team hitting, fielding, and assisting with recruiting.

With over six years of experience in Division 1 baseball, Pearson has both played and coached at the college level.

Coach Stout expressed his confidence in Pearson: "Coach Pearson is not only a phenomenal coach but a fantastic person. His college-level playing and coaching experience will be invaluable to UAPB, and I am thrilled to have him on the staff."

Prior to joining UAPB, Pearson played at Oral Roberts University and the University of Central Arkansas, where he served as a three-year starting shortstop. After graduating, Pearson held positions as assistant hitting coach, assistant infield coach, and director of baseball operations at UCA. Notably, the team achieved the school record for home runs and boasted the best fielding percentage in the conference in 2024.

Pearson holds a bachelor's degree in health and safety from the University of Central Arkansas and a Master's in Sports Management.
