#UAPBAthletics: UAPB Names Ramsey Vaughan as Director of Sports Medicine / Head Athletic Trainer

PINE BLUFF, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff has announced the appointment of Ramsey Vaughan as the new Director of Sports Medicine / Head Athletic Trainer, Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Chris Robinson announced today.

Vaughan brings more than a decade of experience in athletic training, healthcare, and sports medicine to the Golden Lions program. She began her career at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Athletic Training, gaining experience with a wide range of athletic teams at the NCAA, junior college, high school, and even professional rodeo levels.

Most recently, Vaughan served in the Sports Medicine Department at Arkansas Children's Hospital, working extensively with athletes across high school, middle school, and collegiate programs. She has also provided sports medicine services to professional athletes through the Bobby Portis Foundation and the Moses Moody Foundation (Motivate One).

Recognized by both Arkansas Children's Hospital and the Little Rock School District for her community engagement, Vaughan is praised for her positive relationships with athletes, coaches, and families. She is passionate about educating athletes and coaches on sports medicine, having presented at state, national, and international conferences, served as a preceptor and mentor to aspiring athletic trainers, and conducted specialized training for coaches and administrators.

Originally from Branson, Missouri, Vaughan earned her bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Ouachita Baptist University in 2015. Her experiences in Arkansas inspired her to pursue improved access to high-quality medical care for athletes in the state, a mission she now brings to UAPB.

"I have a big vision for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Sports Medicine Department," Vaughan said. "My focus is on consistent, high-quality care for every athlete. That means growing our team, improving facilities, and training the next generation of medical providers. It's a new era of Athletic Training at UAPB and one that will look different, but will be better than it has ever been."

Robinson added: "Ramsey brings an exceptional blend of medical expertise, leadership, and passion for student-athlete care. Her track record of building strong relationships and her vision for growth align perfectly with our commitment to providing the highest standard of health and wellness for our athletes. We're excited to welcome her to the Golden Lions family."
