PINE BLUFF, Arkansas - The UAPB Golden Lions took a 3-0 lead in the second inning and never trailed from there on the way to a 7-4 win over the Little Rock Trojans on Wednesday.

Junior Steffan Fak (1-0) got the win out of the bullpen for UAPB. The right-hander went 2.2 innings, giving up three runs, all of them earned, on four hits, allowing three walks and striking out one. Junior Emerson Lott also pitched well, going 2.2 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out one.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Golden Lions put runs on the scoreboard first, starting the scoring in the second inning. UAPB scored three runs in the frame, highlighted by a two-run single off the bat of senior Jaylon Nauden.

The Trojans failed to push any runs across before the Golden Lions offense got back to their scoring ways the next inning. Senior Carlos Rodriguez came across to score the lone run of the inning for UAPB, which brought the score to 4-0 in favor of the Golden Lions.

Little Rock narrowed UAPB's lead to 4-1 before the Golden Lions stretched the advantage to 7-1 in the fourth inning. Little Rock put three runs on the scoreboard before the game was over, but UAPB still held on for the 7-4 win.
