NACOGDOCHES, TX - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team put together a last-chance comeback, scoring four runs in the ninth inning, but the late-game rally came up short and they fell 7-6 to the SFA 'Jacks Saturday.

Sophomore Cole Kenyon took the loss on the mound for UAPB.

At the plate, the Golden Lions were led by senior Ben VanMaanen, who went 1-for-1 on the day with a home run and three RBI. Senior Jaylon Nauden put together a noteworthy performance as well, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Senior Gavin Terry also contributed for UAPB, putting together two hits in five trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.

Trailing 6-0, the Golden Lions first put runs on the board in the sixth inning. UAPB got on the board thanks to Terry's RBI double with one out.

The Golden Lions kept the deficit at 6-1 before closing the gap further in the eighth. Nauden came across to score the lone run of the inning for UAPB, which brought the score to 6-2 in favor of the 'Jacks.

UAPB held the 'Jacks off the board before rallying to even it up at six in the ninth. The Golden Lions bats heated up in the inning, scoring four runs, including a three-run home run off the bat of VanMaanen.
