Four UAPB players notched at least two hits, but the Golden Lions fell to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles 3-2 Friday.
Junior Kenney Fabian started and took the loss on the mound for UAPB. Senior Brant Voth was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going 4.2 shutout innings while allowing two hits, walking one and striking out four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Golden Lions first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. UAPB got an RBI single from senior Carlos Rodriguez-Velez, scoring junior Trinidad DeLaGarza from second base.
The Golden Lions kept the Golden Eagles off the board before narrowing the gap further in the ninth. Junior Dane Small came across to score the lone run of the inning for UAPB, which tightened the Golden Eagles lead to 3-2. The ballgame ended with that ninth inning rally falling short.

Offensively, the Golden Lions were led by senior Vinny Saumell, who went 2-for-4 on the day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UAPB managed zero chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position. The Golden Lions last got a runner on third in the third, when junior Dane Small made it 90 feet away from scoring with two outs.
