Pine Bluff, AR.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Golden Lions fell to the Prairie View A&M Panthers 12-3 in game two Saturday at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.

Sophomore Damon Elarton  got the ball to start for UAPB and took the loss.

Freshman Kacy Higgins led the way offensively for the Golden Lions, going 2-for-5 in the ballgame with a double and an RBI. Sophomore JaKobi Jackson compiled a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Freshman Carlos Velez also helped out, going 2-for-4 for UAPB with a double.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 4-0, the Golden Lions first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. UAPB picked up three runs, two coming across on doubles from Higgins and Jackson. The Golden Lions were unable to get any closer, as Prairie View A&M added eight runs to their tally on the way to a 12-3 final.

The Golden Lions will be back in action for game three Sunday, April 3.  First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
