#UAPBWCrossCountry Open Season At UCA XC Challenge

Conway, Ark.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's cross country team opened up the 2021 season at the UCA XC Challenge hosted by Central Arkansas. 

With a team roster of six student-athletes, the Lady Lions came into Saturday's meet with four freshmen and placed fifth out of eight teams with 143 points in the 5k.

Freshman Joanna Rogers led the Lady Lions by crossing the finish line in 31st out of 59 competitors with a time of (22:12).

Freshman Sara Medcalf (22:15) and sophomore Ishmia Black (23:06) followed pursuit in 33rd and 37th, respectively.  Also scoring points Shaunia Mcfarlane (44th, 25:50) and Chelsea Ragoonanan (48th, 26:46).

The Lady Lions will return to action next Saturday, September 18, at the Mook XC Invitational host by Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA.
