Pine Bluff, Ark.- After seeing the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team take the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, Grambling St. Tigers rallied in the top of the eighth inning to clip the Golden Lions 11-8, Saturday at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
Grambling St. jumped out to a (3-0) lead in the top of the first inning before UAPB stormed back in the top of the fifth inning to tie the game at (3-3).
The Golden Lions manage to take their first lead of the game (5-3) bottom of the seventh inning when sophomore
Braelin Hence doubled to left field, scoring junior
Timothy Martin, who reached earlier with a double to right field.
The Tigers got on a rally, scoring eight runs in the last two innings to seal the win in game two.
Freshman
Dante Leach led UAPB at the plate, going 3-for-5, scoring two runs, followed by sophomore
Karsten Vasquez going 2-for-5, with an RBI, and Martin going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Junior
Tony Horn Jr. took the loss on the mound going 7.0 IP with six strikeouts.
The Golden Lions will be back in action for game three tomorrow at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex. The first pitch is set for 1 p.m.
