#UAPBBaseball Fall To Little Rock Trojans

Little Rock, Ark.-  The University Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team fell to Little Rock Trojans 7-2 Wednesday afternoon at Gary Hogan Field. 

The Golden Lions took the first lead of the game (1-0) in the top of the first inning when senior Nick Kreutzer singled up the middle, scoring junior Jarficur Parker, who reached earlier with a double to right field. 

The Trojans responded, adding four runs in the bottom of the first inning and three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to add to their lead (7-1).

UAPB counter back in the top of the fifth inning, when junior Kacy Higgins reached base after being hit by a pitch but would go on to score after a double by sophomore Karsten Vasquez to put the score at 7-2, but it was not enough in the comeback. 

Junior Korey Wasson took the loss on the mound for the Golden Lions, going 3.1 IP with two strikes out.

Vasquez led UAPB at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one RBI, followed by junior Humberto Maldonaldo going 2-for-4.

UAPB will be back in action for a three-game series this weekend against Grambling St.  First pitch is set for Friday at 3 p.m. at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
