#UAPBWXC Season Recap

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's cross country wrapped up the 2019 season with a look into the accomplishments of the Lady Lions program.   

The Lady Lions kicked off their first meet of the season at the Mississippi College Opener in Clinton, Mississippi.  
 
The Lady Lions placed eighth overall in the 4k, with a total of 236 points. The ladies were led by senior 
Camiya Knight
, who set a personal best with a time of 17:05.7. She was followed by senior Ciara Thuston, who also set a personal best with a time of 17:27.2.
 
UAPB placed 16th overall with a total of 499 points in the 6k in the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee.  
 
Senior 
Camiya Knight continues to lead the way for UAPB crossing the finish line first with a time of 24:30.0, followed by senior Ciara Thurston with a time of 26:25.5. Freshman Charissa Moore finished shortly after with a time of 26:54.6.
 
UAPB traveled to the Lois Davis Invitational, hosted by Southern Arkansas, and placed in the top five with a total of 114 points. 
 
Senior 
Camiya Knight crossed first for the Lady Lions in 14th place with a time of 19:12, followed by senior Ciara Thuston in 15th with a time of 19:13. 
 
The Lady Lions placed seventh in the SWAC cross country championship with a total of 159 points. 
 
Senior 
Ciara Thuston crossed the finish line first for the Lady Lions in 15th place, setting a personal best with a time of 20: 21.80. Senior Camiya Knight placed 27th with a time of 21:30.22, followed by freshman Charissa Moore in 35th with a time of 21:45.09, freshman Jada Sabir in 37th with a time of 22:07.41, and junior Je-risa James in 45th with a time of 22:52.37.
