Former University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football standout Jamie Gillan and the Cleveland Browns lost a close game on the road at the New York Jets Sunday in NFL Week 16 action.
 
The Browns lost at the Jets 23-16, on what was a busy day for Gillan and the special teams unit. Gillan averaged 41.8 yards on a season-high tying six punts with one downed inside the 20-yard line.
 
Gillan had punts of 43 and 46 yards in the first quarter, and punts of 32 and 39 yards in the second quarter. In the second half, Gillan had a game-long 53-yard punt in the third quarter, and a 38-yard punt in the fourth quarter.
 
The Browns will look to clinch a playoff berth next Sunday with a win over Pittsburgh in a Noon game on CBS. Also, former Golden Lion Terron Armstead and the New Orleans Saints, who clinched their fourth-straight NFC South Division title on Christmas Day, will play at Carolina at Noon on FOX.
