Baseball Splits Doubleheader Against North Alabama

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team split a doubleheader Friday against North Alabama, winning game one 11-9 and falling in game two 11-3.

Game three of the series is Saturday at 1 p.m., with senior day presentations starting at 12:40 p.m. Live stats for the game can be found on uapblionsroar.com and on the UAPB Athletics App.

Game 1 -  Golden Lions 11, North Alabama 9: Trailing 9-5 in the eighth, UAPB rallied for six runs. Ricardo Sanchez walked, and Austin Krzeminski was hit by a pitch. Following a sacrifice bunt that advanced both runners, Jarficur Parker reached on an infield single scoring Sanchez, with Krzeminski scoring on a throwing error to tie the game. Braelin Hence and
Bryce Roesch then walked to load the bases. Davion White then singled to right field, scoring Parker and Hence, with Roesch scoring on a throwing error. Nick Kreutzer then doubled to center, scoring White.

Sanchez went 3-for-4 with two RBI, Kreutzer went 2-for-5 with 4 RBI, and Ryan Mallison had two hits in the win.

Game 2 – North Alabama 11, Golden Lions 3: UAPB scored in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, Hence walked with out and Parker reached on an infield single. After both runners advanced on a wild pitch, Kreutzer doubled down the left field line to plate the runners.

In the sixth, Mallison singled, moved to second on a balk, then to third on a wild pitch before scoring on an obstruction play as Andrew Szalkowski was interfered with running to first on a hit ball.

Mallison went 2-2 in the nightcap.
