The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team lost a close 4-2 decision to Stephen F. Austin Tuesday at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex at Bill Jones Field.

Trailing 3-0 in the eighth, UAPB got on the board. Bryce Roesch singled to center, and advanced to second when Larry Sims was hit by a pitch. Ryan Mallison's singled to right center scored both runners to cut the deficit to 3-2.

However, the Lumberjacks added a run in the ninth for the final margin.

The Golden Lions return to SWAC play this weekend in a three-game series at Texas Southern beginning Friday at 5 p.m. in Houston.
