After coming off their most successful September since 2012, UAPB looks to post a homecoming win against the Dragons.

"We're going to roll our sleeves up and we are going to go to work," said UAPB alum and head coach Cedric Thomas. "This is a time for us to really put our stamp and imprint our foundation of what we are doing going forward so that everybody that is associated with this great institution can enjoy this around 6 or 7 p.m. on Saturday."

The Lion Pride walk in 2018 was the moment it really hit Thomas of being the head coach at his alma mater. He and his team want to restore and elevate that pride with a win on Saturday.

"Last year was the first time I ever got a chance to be a part of homecoming (as an alum), because I was always coaching," Thomas said. "The first time it touched me was during the Lion Pride Walk last year, to be able to look at all the RVs and the people that came to fellowship…We've now had an opportunity to do a great job recruiting with our coaching staff and having the kids believe in what's going on. Now when we take that walk, it's a sense of pride with our chest sticking out saying we have to go out here and devour whomever is on that sideline. It's huge to be able to see everybody that's excited about the product, excited about these young brothers, and everybody that's associated with this great institution."
