Pine Bluff's offense was largely quiet through the first six innings before erupting for seven runs in a chaotic seventh frame, turning a deficit into a commanding lead. Errors and sustained pressure from the Golden Lions lineup broke Grambling's pitching staff wide open, and UAPB never looked back.
First baseman Lazaro Alvarado was the offensive standout of the afternoon, going 3-for-4 with a walk and an RBI for a jaw-dropping 1.550 OPS on the day. His single through the left side in the seventh was one of several blows that keyed the big inning.
