UAPB Student-Athletes Post Another Strong Semester

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Athletics completed one of the strongest academic semesters in department history during the fall of 2020. Despite the challenges presented by learning during a global pandemic, the Golden Lions had more than 280 student-athletes combined to post a 3.1 cumulative GPA, which marked the third-straight semester that the Golden Lion student-athletes combined to record a 3.0 or higher GPA.

In all, 12 of UAPB's 14 sports finished the fall semester with a 3.0 or better.

In total, 11 of UAPB's 280 student-athletes made the Chancellor's List with a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall semester, 89 student-athletes made the Dean's List, and 40 made the Honor Roll to combine with a total of 170 student-athletes (60 percent) finished the fall semester with a 3.0 GPA or better.

"The athletic administration is extremely proud of our student-athletes," said Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director Chris Robinson. "Navigating through all the challenges associated with the global pandemic and the societal issues that became so glaringly apparent this year, our student-athletes achieved an overall average cumulative G.P.A. of over 3.0 for the third straight semester. VERY IMPRESSIVE! The student-athletes achieved this while displaying qualities that will be essential to their success in life after college. Our goal is to teach life skills, providing our student-athletes with the necessary tools to be successful in life. GREAT JOB!"
