NORMAN, Ok. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball team fell to Oklahoma in a midweek contest 13-2 on the road Wednesday night at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
The Sooners, who are ranked 11th in the country, jumped out to a fast start scoring 11 runs in the first four innings.
UAPB got on the board in the top of the seventh inning when sophomore Braelin Hence doubled down the left field and scored off a single by freshman Brady Moorman.
Oklahoma added two more in the bottom of the seventh before UAPB scored in the top of the eighth inning.
Senior Larry Sims singled up the middle, then advanced to second on a single by senior Andrew Szalkowski. Next at-bat, Sims would score off an error.
Hence led the Golden Lions at the plate, going 2-for-2 and a run. Sims also added two hits and a run for UAPB.
The Golden Lions will be back in conference play for a three-game series this weekend at the Torii Hunter Complex against Prairie View A&M. First pitch for game one is set for Friday at 2 p.m.
