A proud product of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Keionte Brown has been shaping the voice and vision of UAPB Athletics since 2021. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Strategic Communications and Director of Creative Content, Brown leads the department’s storytelling efforts across digital, visual, and community platforms—crafting a unified brand identity that reflects the pride, resilience, and excellence of Golden Lions Athletics.

A native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Brown is deeply rooted in his hometown, where he continues to inspire and impact local youth through sports, music, and mentorship. His return to UAPB marked not just a homecoming, but a mission to elevate the institution that helped mold him.

As the Founder and Director of Creative Lions—the official creative media services team for UAPB Athletics—Brown built and leads a pipeline of student content creators responsible for producing photo, video, and graphic design content for all 14 sports. Under his leadership, Creative Lions has grown into a model of student-driven production, giving aspiring sports creatives hands-on experience while ensuring UAPB maintains a strong and consistent presence across all digital platforms.

Brown is also a 2020 UAPB graduate, earning his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. During his undergraduate years, he was a student media specialist for athletics and actively involved in several campus organizations, including the prestigious Vesper Choir and the Marching Musical Machine of the Mid-South (M4). He became a Spring 2020 initiate of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated through the Gamma Sigma Chapter.

Prior to his current role, Brown served as a Sports Information Graduate Assistant at Grambling State University, where he developed a broad skill set across sports communication, including writing, media management, and graphic design. He also spent time as a beat writer and photographer for the Pine Bluff Commercial, building credibility and trust within his community.

Beyond the walls of UAPB, Brown’s creative influence has reached the national stage. He currently serves as the Social Media Manager and Content Specialist for NBA player Nick Smith Jr., helping document and promote Smith’s journey from elite high school recruit to University of Arkansas standout to 2023 NBA First-Round Draftee of the Charlotte Hornets. From branded content to storytelling strategy, Brown plays a key role in amplifying Smith’s voice and brand in the public eye.

Brown also played a vital role in the rise of Zaay Green, a standout athlete whose content he curated and promoted across platforms. Through intentional storytelling, highlight reels, and professional-grade visuals, Brown helped amplify her journey—earning widespread attention and putting her on the radar of WNBA scouts during her time at UAPB. In 2025, Green was selected by the Washington Mystics in the WNBA Draft, a milestone achievement that reflected both her talent and the power of strategic media exposure.

Brown’s work has been featured by major platforms such as SLAM, SportsCenter, Bleacher Report, and HBCU GO. With projects amassing over 5 million views and 480,000+ likes on Gondola alone, his content continues to reach audiences nationwide and highlight the culture, energy, and athletes of HBCUs.

In 2024, Brown was awarded a competitive scholarship to attend the inaugural SkullSparks24 Conference, a premier national gathering of digital creatives in college athletics. The experience offered direct collaboration and learning alongside industry leaders in content production, fan engagement, and digital strategy—further expanding his creative toolbox and vision.

Through every shot, caption, and campaign, Keionte Brown stands as a passionate storyteller, a proud son of Pine Bluff, and a champion for the voices of student-athletes, especially at HBCUs.
