Arkansas-Pine Bluff's Fuentes and Laypoole SWAC Soccer Accolades

Lady Lions junior midfielder Silvia Fuentes earned SWAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and Bre-Ann Laypoole was tabbed SWAC Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. 

Silvia Fuentes (M, 5-6, Jr., Moreno Valley, California) registered two shots on goals for the Lady Lions in its season opener against Sun Belt Conference opponent Arkansas State. “She had a fantastic game for us, and it makes it even more special because that was her first game as a lady Lion,” aid Mazza

Laypoole (GK, 5-10, Sr., Marion, Ind.) totaled seven saves and 96:19 minutes in UAPB's 1-0 overtime loss to Arkansas State. “She stood tall and was a big presence for us in the back, “said Mazza

Erika Forbes was a nominee for the SWAC Defensive Player of the Week, as she was a key leader in the back against Arkansas.

The Lady Lions will take on the field Wednesday night at 5pm against University of the Ozarks
